Visionquest Monitoring & Research Group -The Internet Car Lot Inc Escrow 2, name On The Check Received a check for $ 3,885.00 but it smelled like fish so I did not cash it. There is a rat in the wood pile and we need to find it

I received a check out of the blue for $ 3,885.00 from Visionquest Monitoring and Research Group. The check's name is "The Internet Car Lot Inc" drawn on American National Bank and Peoples National Bank (no city listed for either one of these banks) that is a red flag to me. I immediately smelled a "rat". I still have the check and all the information. I have worked "checks, forgeries and fraud before and this falls right in the group. I am not out one cent being the skeptical person I am. I just want to make a record of this event so someone else will not be ripped off.
