I received 2 letters stating that I was eligible for EUC (emergency unemployment) in the amount of $4800.00. I filed the first week of November and they are still giving me the run-around. My husband and I were both laid off our jobs, we lost our home through forclosure, and now my husband only has 2 more checks coming from unemployment, and then I can no longer pay my storage rent, in which case I will lose all the rest of my belongings. We have both worked hard all of our lives, and now we had to file for food stamps and medical assistance, which we have never done before. It has been 5 months, and still they will not help me. They just keep pushing me aside. I understand that we are not the only ones in this situation, but 5 months? I have repeatedly asked them for the name of the person handling my case and the name of a supervisor, and they refuse to help me with that. I have notified the State Attorney General's office, and they said it would be a conflict of interest, so they can't help me. I contacted the William E Morris Agency and I haven't heard anything from them as yet. Can you people please help me? I don't want to lose the little I have left because someone is not doing their job. I worked for 4 weeks at Assurity Financial and a group of us were called in and told we were laid off, now they tell AZUI that I was discharged. Regardless, they let me go, I did not voluntarily quit my position. After that, I worked of American Bank Mortgage Group for 3 months and they closed the branch. I was never paid because they never submitted my paper work to payroll, they said I can't prove I worked there, so they refused to pay me. I am at the end of my rope, and still looking for work on a daily basis. I was in the mortgage business, and I am now looking for server or bartending jobs. There are so many people in this boat right now, that the jobs are hard to come by. I am not a lazy person, but would very much like what is coming to me, what I worked all my life for. I sit here panicing while someone is sitting behind their desk playing GOD with my life. Thank you so much, and please help me.
