Complaint / Review
Charles "HOS" Hoskins
100% Maricopa County TAX INCREASE on my property in 1 YEAR

The County Government has LOST ITS MIND.in one year, without researching my property or if any improvements have been made, the Maricopa County doubled my property tax. I have an empty lot with NO DWELLING on it but here are the increases they posted:

-County Education Increased 78.8%
-Community College Dist Increased 84.2%
-Community College Dist Bonds Increased 186.2%
-City of Surprise Increased 76.5%
-VOTER Approved City Bonds DECREASED 48.9% (Interesting that voters want LOWER TAXES!!!)
-General County Fund Increased 83.2%
-Flood Control of Maricopa Increased 136.5%
-Central AZ Water District Increased 165.2% (We have well water and do not use city water)
-Fire District Assistance Tax Increased 163.7%
-County Library Increased 139.3%
-County Health Care Dist. (?) Increased 142.8%

At a time when property values are declining, the county assessed that my property had tripled in price over 2007 to justify my tax increases. The property values around my lot have decreased and they are projecting a tax liability that is outrageous when compared against the real property values in my area.

I am seeking a tax reduction that is realistic and in line with the real market value of my property. GOVERNMENT HAS GONE MAD at a time when taxpayers are struggling to hang on to their homes, jobs and property. The increases above are the ACTUAL NUMBERS they reflected on my tax statement.

I am asking all MARICOPA COUNTY (in Arizona) TAX PAYERS to stand up against this out of control taxation without controls. Government is not part of any solution to any problems. Government like this is the problem.
