Eventive Promotion
Big Waste of time

I just moved to houston and I was looking for jobs, I applied to jobs on monster.com and I recived a call from Eventive promotions. The claimed to be a marketing company with a management trainee program. I should have seen the red flags in the beginning when they did not require any kind of experience or education. Anyway I went to the interview and the place was so small. I did not see how a company could run in that setting. But I thought maybe that it was just the place they were conducting interviews. As I was sitting and waiting the waiting room was filled with at least twenty other people waiting to be interviewed as well. And the receptionist was scheduling several more over the phone. I went to meet with the recruiter who was basically just a fast talker. He told me that they are going to pick six people that night to come back the next day to work in "the field". I got a call to come back so I did the next morning, and to my surprise there were several other people that came as well. Way more then six. I was paired up with a young lady who was supposedly one of the training managers. We drove over an hour to a gas station to sell car cleaner in a can. I was so upset that I got all dressed up thinking that I'm going to be doing some professional work, but I'm stuck all day selling car cleaner. During the lunch time she went over the compensation plan with me, and they only offer three dollars per can sold. For the whole entire day I was there she only sold about five cans. So she actually worked a ten hour day and only made $15 dollars. What a joke! She assured me that within 3 months I could be making way more, but I strongly felt that the risk definetly outweighs the reward. Another thing that I forgot to add that there was another employee who was supposedly a trainee that rode along with us, and when I was asking her about how she likes the job and the things that they do she told me that she was not allowed to answer any of my questions. At that point all the sirens were going off. Unless you want to waste an entire day of your precious time stay away from this company or any other company that promises to make you a manager in months with no education or experience. Its a fraud and they are really just looking for monkeys to sell their products.
