Laura Ghazi and her husband have been operating a dog breeding operation for many years. There have been several complaints from several individuals made against them according to the Sumner County, TN sheriff's office. Even then, they continued to advertise on AKC registered dogs on their website - cutepuppiesareus.com also dba cutepuppiesrus.com. They took down the AKC claim after 8 months when they were busted on a public forum and reported to the Federal Trade Commission for False advertising. I hear that they have also been reported to the IRS for concealing income from the sale of their dogs, reported to local and federal humane societies, and reported to many news outlets.
They use puppyfind, a website that many claim provides a haven for puppy mills to sell their dogs on the internet. Puppy mills do not want you to see their operations. Most are located in rural areas and offer to either ship their dog or "meet you on the Highway" for your convenience. A new law was recently passed that makes it illegal to sell any dogs that have been imported from outside the United States if the dogs were imported when they were less than 6 months old. We believe that Cutepuppiesareus.com may be in violation of that law. We know from the Macon county, TN sheriff's dept that they have imported dogs from Russia and Europe.
We believe that cutepuppiesrus.com, cutepuppiesareus.com raises dogs in a unhealthy environment. One of the local sheriff deputies described their kennel as having 71 dogs in wire cages in shed, some cages stacked on top of each other so that feces and urine could drop down to cages below. He described a strong odor of dog urine when you walked in. The sheriff said he saw nothing wrong. I asked the sheriff what his medical credentials were to make that assessment and he became indignant. I told him in no uncertain terms that he was not qualified to make a cursory visual inspection of 71 dogs and pronounce them all healthy. I know the dog I bought from them had some potentially fatal health issues that were clearly a result of neglect.
Here is the bottom line - never buy dogs from a website unless you can personally see their kennel and all the dogs they are currently raising. Never buy a dog off the puppyfind.com website unless you can see the breeder's operation.
