I appreciate what this great country has done for me as a small business owner, I really do. I don't agree with the war in Iraq or the way we export all of our jobs to China and India but in general this country treats me pretty great. However. (Yes, there is an aside here...) I just sent a HUGE tax payment to the IRS and it was almost physically painful to do so.
I know the money goes to good use (right???) I mean, we have social and civil services keeping our streets clean and our kids healthy (right???) and we can buy whatever we need without huge sales tax and needing a permit for every little thing (right???) I mean - taxes are a necessary evil, and while I can appreciate what they're for it still HURTS LIKE HELL to send that check off in the post.
The ONLY consolation is that little check box where they ask if you want to donate $3 or however much to the 'Presidential Campaign Fund' and I'm like HELL NO!
Saved myself three bucks right there, yes I did.
