Complaint / Review
Blount County Mayor Jerry Cunningham
Lies again to the taxpayers

In the December 13 edition of the Daily Times, Mayor Cunningham, Joe Swann (Maryville city mayor) and Don Mull (Alcoa city mayor) were able to put their heads together and write an editorial condemning the Daily Times for reporting the facts on Ruby Tuesday and their buddy Judge Dale Young.

First of all, when I'm in one of those "trendy" resteraunts like Ruby Tuesdays, I could very well be in a Chili's, Applebees, TGI Fridays, etc., etc., and still be equally disappointed in the overpriced, over-hyped crap that they like to serve and call "cuisine." You take the sign away and most folks couldn't tell you which one of these "Yuppie Driven" resteraunts that they were actually at.

I stopped eating at these places a long time ago. They sucked then, so I'm sure they suck now. I just don't feel good about spending $10 for a hamburger that I could have made a hell of alot better at home.

Ruby Tuesdays is just not the "greatest thing" to ever happen in Blount County. I know very few people who are actually from here that works for this "elitist" organization. I know why Mayor Cunningham thinks so much of them: most of the folks that work there came to Blount County from somewhere else. Being an agent of the development industry like the mayor is, he loves the fact that all these folks probably built new houses and bought land from his "special buddies."

Just because the Daily TImes took a poll that ended up being not to Sandy Beall's (RUBY TUESDAYS) liking, doesn't mean that the Daily Times or anybody else has an "ax to grind", in the words of Mayor "Boss Hog" Cunningham. It's pretty obvious that he is just taking up for another one of his development minded buddies in the local GOP.

Isn't Sandy Beall the one who wants to development part of Chilhowee Mtn. To further destroy the beauty of this area? The answer is YES! And that answer will get you in with Mayor Cunningham and his minions quicker that you can say "Vulcan Materials Rules!" or "... The Lamberts are the most wholesome family in Blount County. "LOL

Further on in the letter, Mayor Cunningham mentions his old buddy Judge Dale Young again and how the paper aatcked him and his father Chet; referring to Judge Dale Young's sevice as a "distinguished carreer." I guess holding three or four trials a year and violating "legal immigrant's" rights will earn you the title of being "distinguished" in Jerry Cunningham's camp. Nice to know where his heart is at.

The biggest problem that I have with the letter is the fact that Alcoa City Mayor Don Mull allowed himself to dragged into this situation. I always had a pretty high opinion of Don Mull, but just like many of our local "developer friendly" politicians, I guess I was wrong.

The fact that Maryville mayor Joe Swann allowed himself to be included is "par for the course." This guy is as underhanded as the rest fo the criminals we have in Blount County masquerading as "representatives of the people." What a joke. He picked up right where the last Maryville City Mayor left off: "Destroy as much as possible as long as we make money through the backdoor."

The whole letter is just a futile and inept attempt by Mayor "Fancy Pants" Cunningham to discredit the Daily Times based on the "TRUTHS" they reported concerning local corruption in Blount County Government.

I can assure the mayor that there's no way that the Daily Times could do as good of a job destroying the mayor's credibility as he does himself everytime he opens his hypocritical, dishonest and truly ignorant mouth. This crook is a real piece of "work". (if one were to substitute anything relating to fecal matter for the word "work", it would be more definitive of Mayor Jerry Cunningham's underhandedness and integrity)

Just so you know, the Daily Times printed their side of things in todays edition in the editorial section.

Sic semper tyrannis and down with the lambert hoard!
