We were sexually assaulted in Ocean Grove, New Jersey on the 14th -15th, (early morning hours) of July. The police took eight days before they investigated this crime scene. (This allowed the landlord to hire a cleaning company to clean this condo unit).
In addition, when I contacted one of the Sergeants he acted like he did not even know about this crime. The sergeant stated, "If you were raped, why did it take you two days to have the rape kit done? I was so shocked that I replied, "What would you have done if this had happened to you?" He replied, "I would have locked my door or moved out."
