US Postal Service
Priority mail, deceptive advertising, ripoff Washington DC

I mailed two letters to my son in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Wednesday, April 20. Since one was of an important nature, I sent it priority mail, signature requested. I was assured by the clerk, and the illuminated sign in the post office, that the letter would be delivered in 2 to 3 business (postal) days. So I paid the $3.85 plus. 45 for delivery confirmation.

My son received the regular first class mail on Monday, April 25. Today is Wednesday, April 27 and he has yet to receive the priority envelope. I checked on the post office website and the only information I can get is the envelope was received on April 20 (which I already know). I called customer service and was told that priority mail can take up to 10 days and to call back on the 10th day and a trace can be made. I informed her that this is not how the service is advertised or explained. Of course, there was no reply. I wish I could say this is the first time something like this has happened with me and the postal service, but it's not. Fed Ex or USPS is the only way to go.
