I have been with AT&T for more than ten years. But the last four or so I have had a go phone. I had my account so that it would refill automatically every month and charge my Credit Card. I always carried a credit balance so that I would not ever fall into the situation of not having a phone. April 2 I signed up with Sprint and Ported my go phone number to Sprint. After the number was ported I called to get my credit balance refunded. They said no that I just lost that money because I left AT&T. The only way I could have kept it was to get an AT&T phone with 2 yr contract. It was a significant credit balance. I spoke with 2 different Managers and received the same answer from them both. I know it was in the fine print on the agreement. But it would have been nice if they would have told me before they ported my number that I would loose the credit balance. So with in a couple hrs of porting my number and finding out that I would loose the credit I decided to back out of the contract with Sprint and go back to AT&T until I had used the credit balance. When I called to get my number ported back they told me even if I did that I would not have the credit, that money was gone.
I am very disappointed in AT&T to think they would treat a customer this way after ten plus loyal years with their company. I would like for other consumers to have a bit of a warning before this happens to them. If you could speak on my behalf to some one in AT&T that would be great.
