My husband and I were interested in becoming new Cricket customers and have encountered the ludicrous notion that it is virtually impossible to sign up for this company's service either online or over the phone using customer service agents! We tried numerous times to order over the course of a week and spent hours on the phone with their reps, and each time there is an error with their system and the order cannot go through. Apparently they said they have been having some system-wide problems with online orders due to an upgrade to a new software.

While it can be somewhat understandable that they are having technical problems, their handling, or lack thereof, of the situation is completely unacceptable.

In the end they said we can go to one of their stores and order in-person, but refused to provide the same discount that we would be getting through the web, despite the fact that the problems were on their end and nothing to do with us.

We were quite astounded and baffled by the utter lack of responsiveness and interest in attracting and retaining new customers.

Also, for a customer service supervisor of a phone company to tell me that he is unable to make outgoing calls (apparently he can only receive incoming calls!) was just about the most laughable and absurd thing!

We take all this as a very good sign not to get involved with this company and walk away. Cricket - you just lost 2 new customers who were going to order the brand-new smartphones and corresponding plans. We will also make sure to tell everyone we know about this ridiculous experience.
