I contacted this breeder in January. Since I had lost an OES in December, this same year, due to poor breeding, I was very health conscious. I chose Debra and Rick DeBakker, because of there guarentee's and how "health conscious" they claimed to be.
Before I gave them my deposit of $200, I was told they would be expecting 5 of there 7 females to deliver by spring. And there refund policy at the time was, "your deposit will not be returned for irresponsible planning" In Febuary, I gave them a $200 deposit for a female, this made me #11 on the list. With 5 females delivering by spring, I'm sure to have a pup by summer, right? Wrong! All except 2 females had false labor! This alone should have been a red flag. But after speaking to the Debbie and Rick, they convinced me this is normal. I then at this time relized, I was no way getting a female, being #11.
I chose at this time to ask for a refund, because as we know irresponsible planning was not due to me. They at this time did say I was entitled to one, but then talked me into switching to the male list. I did, this made me #2. My baby boy was born, only to find out a week before his arrival home, he had a blood disorder. I spoke to their vet and mine. Both advised me to walk away. Sadly, I did. Before doing so, I asked Debbie if she would be willing to test my pup for the disease (which is VERY common in purebreds) She declined.
Another woman bought my pup, sent me $600 for him, Debbie still owes me $248. A week later, I am told Debbie had some of the pups tested and they came back negative.instead of going by her "next on the list" policy, she went over my head an offered the pup to someone behind me. When I brought this to her attention, she blamed her husband Rick. Good thing, she did pass me by... To my knowledge 4 of 6 male pups (even the ones she CLAIMS to have been tested) are dead! So not only have these people breached their own policies several times. They continue to ignore all the families, attorney's and credit card company's in wanting and waiting for the return of their monies!
Not only that, but when all this starting hitting the fan, they changed their policy to NO REFUNDS at all!!! If you are in search of an Old English Sheepdog puppy... Please stay away from the con artist, just out for your $!!
