I has a similar call from a firm calling themselves WTcare (Windows Tecnical Care) They gave me the same information as others have been given - virus attack from ciber criminals and all that junk - I am disgusted with myself that I was taken in. They installed a registry cleaner and de-frag software (which wasn't necessary) and there super techician spent ages 'cleaning my system' Infact all he ran was 'ccleaner' a freebee registry cleaner which does the job - rather too well, clearing all cookies - I had to re-enter all of my 'remembered' information. Since then I have numerous 'witheld' calls from similar alleged Windows Maintenance Companies saying I have paid them $180, all with similar scare stories and asking for access to show me a new problem. I have asked for, but do not expect to get my money back. I now don't allow any access but do waste as much of their time as I can.
