I once had two Capitol One cards and payed them both off and canceled them each time I canceled them the following mounth I would get another bill with a monthly fee charge on it and would have to call them again and tell them I canceled the card.
After finely getting the last card canceled onn month later they sant me a checkbook with a $2400.00 check written to me to use as i please saying i have a pre approved $3000.00 credit line I could Deposit this in my bank account or use it to pay off higer intrest credit accounts. I assumed it was a way of getting my buisness back and it offered a 2.9% interest rate until ballance was payed off so I deposited the check and payed off some other creditors. Capitol One returned the check causeing these checks to bounce.
Their reason for not honoring the check was the account was closed. They were sent to me a month after I closed my account If the account was closed why did they send me the checks. Their answer they sent the checks two days before I canceled the acc. I canceled on 9-11 the checks came on 10-8 that would mean it took almost a month to get to me by mail. Doesn't seem logical to me. I use to be an exelent coustmer of theirs now I intend to be there worst enimy.
