Unfortunately there seems to be a growing number of companies feeding on the unemployed or underemployed workers out there. I had a similar experience in San Diego where I drove 70 miles for an interview just to find out the job was commission only with no paid gas, travel, etc... And I was to shadow someone for a day unpaid as my training. Since then, I have had my radar on to these companies and today I received not one but two emails that were written exactly the same from two different companies:
