Just another vicitm, a short phone call from a public phone at Toronto airport to a cell phone in Ontario and a charge of $12.97 appeared on my CC. I will be reporting those scammers to CRTC.
As others indicated, the call was not operator assisted and it seems that you need a PhD in IT techhologies to figure out how you can possibly retrive their rates going through the menu.
I would also say that Bell is being part of this scam since public phones in Ontario are their and there is no warning on them that calls placed using a CC are through another operator with additional billing and other fees.
Unfortunately, legalized road robberies are becoming common in this country.
