On July 9th and August 3rd, I purchased fuel from Speedway in Willoughby Ohio on SR. 306. On July 9th my boat broke down and it was discovered that the fuel was contaminated. I lost two charter bookings as well $1980 and damaged the possibility of potential future charter bookings from those customers. The fuel I purchased had to be dumped. My boat tow / repair costs totalled $1600.
At this point, I could not pinpoint the source of the contamination, so I purchases water filter system for my tank and continued to purchase fuel from Speedway. Then on August 3rd, I had a duplicate issue with my boat. I had also fueled up my truck with the same gas, and my truck broke down within a half an hour of fueling. This time I spent $408 truck repairs and another $565 on boat repairs.
I had to dump the $450 in fuel between these two trips as well, totalling the damage to nearly $4500. Not counting my wife had to take off work to unload our customers and transport them back to their vehicles, and pick me up from the side of the road when my truck broke down let alone the loss of future business from these customers.
