I responded to a mailing that advertised "bundling" telephone, internet and satellite television service. The call was supposedly recorded for accuracy. I was assured that for $50.44 per month I would have the 3 services through DirecTV and one of their "partners" either AT&T or Verizon. After about a month, my phone and internet connections went dead. I determined that my previous carrier had turned off service. I contacted DirecTV and was told that an order for a bundle had never been placed, that I was only paying for the satellite. I requested a copy of the recording, was told this needed to be done in writing and sent US mail. I did as instructed, but received a call from DirecTV that they needed me to contact them via phone. When I called, I was told that due to security purposes, they do not release these transcripts/tape recordings. When asked about terminating my agreement, I was told it would cost $500! I feel they lied to me and mislead me into signing a 2-year contract!
