OK, my complaint is eerily similar to all of the others posted but after a live "chat" with one of Totem's reps, I am livid! Fortunately my potential monetary loss is relatively small but someone has to rat out these scammers! First, I didn't see a Blackberry 8330 pictured on their site but saw an 8320 (very similar and looked identical). BEFORE agreeing to anything, I did the live chat routine with one of their reps and asked whether my model would be accepted since it technically wasn't listed - she checked and answered in the affirmative. So I got the quote for the 8320 ($8.28) and added a TV promo code for an additional $10.00 which I received on the order confirmation/receipt. Every step of this process required MY follow-up - waited for the shipping box and only received several weeks later after contacting this scum company via chat and receiving an apology that they had been a bit backed up. The receipt in the box did not reflect the $10.00 TV Promo so I chatted again - this time I was advised it wouldn't be applied until the device was received, inspected and the final credit granted. Mailed the device out on 8/7 and confirmed its delivery NOT through Totem's site but FedEx's tracking site - on 8/14 @ 3:00PM. Zero communication since - no e-mails, no money transfer to PayPal. No response to a voicemail left at their useless hotline's request after providing every bit of information requested. No response to an e-mail with the same info. Finally - you guessed it - chatted at length with a "Jeffrey Matthews" today. A very long, drawn-out dialogue with long intervals between typing my concerns and receiving his responses that did confirm receipt of the device but that it was one they no longer accepted. This is total BS!!! Then return my f* phone to me in the operable condition it was received! I demanded escalation of my issue and a direct # to ONE human being at this schlock company but to no avail. Jeffrey did claim it was referred to the "in-charge" manager and I should receive an e-mail within 48-72 hours after they have concluded their research. So I'll wait but I won't hold my breath. I questioned the wisdom of sending anything of value to an unknown entity because once it leaves one's hands, any leverage is lost and the transaction reverts to the honor system. Unfortunately, I threw common sense to the wind as the advertising, website and process seemed legit. I had the honor system shoved up my a* and these scumbags should and must be held accountable!!! I've invested way too much time on the matter but I am so pissed and I don't want this vermin to get away with scamming any more people. I would pay them a visit personally if they were here in PA and not on the west coast. It's screwings like this that infuriate people to the level of "going postal"! I hope a class action suit of some kind can be cobbled together; I will file a complaint through the BBB and (ahem) await the e-mail response from Totem. Stay away from these thieves as no immediate remedy exists for this scam.
