Fake part-time job listed on Craig's List

As an experienced recruiter, even I was fooled. Melissa placed an ad in our local Craig's List (I'll notify them of this deception next) "Part-Time Recruiter for a large benefits broker". Something didn't look right on their website but I responded.

It wasn't until I read other reviews on this site, and did some homework, that I figured this out.

Yes, it is a convoluted version of Pre-paid Legal recruitment, a multi-level marketing company. This company is, or was, actually traded on the stock market. It does sell a product to individuals as well as to employees of companies... As a benefit. Much like the way Amway now has disguised itself, this has done the same.

If you want to be in their "downline" and like all MLM's, they make money on your purchase of the product (required), be aware of what this is. You will not be treated as an employee, you will be considered an owner of your own "business" and expected to invest your own money, time, resources as you recruit your own downline.
