We planned a family vacation in St Agustine and my sister in law, Carol Fernandez had been speaking directly with the owner of the Resort, Anna Craven. We booked three rooms checking in July 14th. Upon arrival and looking at the rooms, we were not happy at all. The Resort did not look anything like what we had seen advertise on the internet. The outside of the building was run down, rusted, no floors, dirty, it was runned down. The rooms were dirty, carpet was stained and wet from leaking a/c, the floor in the bathroom was wet from a leaky toilet, the appliances both the microwave/dishwasher and refrigerator were rusted and dirty. There was no utensils, plates etc. It was advertised as fully equipped and there was absolutely nothing. When I asked a housekepper they had no idea what I was talking about. We requested to leave and were told they would keep the one day even if we left right away. We were traveling with the entire family ranging from children the age of 4 to seniours over 70 years old. We kept complaining about the horrible room conditions and were changed to another room that was in even worse condition. On July 16 we could not take it any more and checked out. At that point the rude front desk attendant did not want to give us our money back and said that only the owner could approve it. We called the police and the code compliance for St Johns county. Upon arrival we filed a report and the building inspector, Gary Larson, responded to our call with the St Johns County Fire Marshall. They checked all three rooms, 159,260 and 270. These rooms were inspected and were posted as unfit for accupancy by any individual. I have pictures of these rooms. A hotel should not be allowed to be open for business upon false advertisement. What they show on their website and on You Tube is nothing to what the building and rooms look like. The rooms are old, dirty, rusted, moldy with a bad smell. The have no clean towels and not even toilet paper. They charge your credit card without authorization and then at time of check out it is very convenient for them to say they cannot refund any money back without the owners authorization, An owner that claims to never be in the premises. They say the safe if locked and only the owner has a key and yet again the owner is never around. My daughter was sick one night from the fowel order in the room. My grandson suffers from asthma and he was not feeling well due to the mole and mildew smell in the room. The appliances were so filthy dirty, old and rusted that we were not able to use them. It was unsanitary. The employees were not in uniform and drinking beer while cleaning the rooms. I hope the health department can close this hotel so that no one else has to go through the bad experience my family had to go through.
