I joined this site as a month trial for £5. I had no contact from anyone on the site, indeed they didn't even look like real people. I have had numerous emails suggesting that there were others interested in me, but again these didn't appear to be genuine.
The company said that I should cancel with 7 days notice, which I tried. The FAQs on the website say that you can cancel on line, but I tried for several hours trying to find the link. I eventually found a link for a telephone help line but the help line wasn't genuine. After several evenings I found a link that suggested that I could send an email to cancel, which I did, but received a reply saying that cancellation by email was not acceptable and that I should send a registered letter by post to an address in Luxembourg.in very small print it said that a request on a special form could be faxed. This I did but it has not been acknowledged. The company insisted that they would take £149 for my extended membership that I am 'in a contract for'. I have not signed any contract and do not accept that I entered into a contract beyon the trial period. They do not accept this. I have informed my bank who have recovered the payment for me, but Be2.com are now threatening me with debt collection. They say that they can not cancel my membership until I pay up.
There is a FAQ that suggests that they will give a full refund if you do not meet anyone in your membership period. I sent an email to tell them I hadn't met anyone, but this has been ignored.
I also note in their terms and conditions that they 'reserve the right' to charge me £250 if they cancel my membership because I haven't paid.
The practices of this company are unfair, unreasonable and do not provide the service that they advertise.
