I called my local time Warner cable branch in Cleveland, OH to upgrade to their 89.99 bundle. They asked for my credit card information and my social security number. Then set up a work order.
2 weeks later I called because nobody called me about setting up my cable/phone and eh said they have no record of a work order AND that I didn't need to give my ssn. Oh, and that it would cost more than what I initially thought.
Very shady and totally unacceptable. I'm shopping around for tv/Internet/phone service, canceling my existing time Warner services, and going straight to the better business bureau.
