Thomas Hanzs
Consumer Report

I meet this man on an online dating service called match.com and he declared himself as Thomas Hanz born 18/6/64 and lived at 435 Elm Park, London after 2-3 weeks of emails back and forth he said he was flying back home to Australia, he had not been home in 15 years and was born and raised in Allora, Queensland where his Mum and Dad both died when he was in high school and that he was an only child. He said he wanted to come home to where his grass routes are and settle down. I told him when he came to Australia we could start seeing each other and to get to know one another. I told him I would not support him in anyway when he arrived as he needed to support himself, he agreed. I asked him to send me the confirmation flight details that he was booked on, he did this and was flying with KLM and was due into Brisbane Airport on Thursday 14th June where I would pick him up from, the day before the flight was due to take off he imformed me that he had a hold on the flight with his frequent flyers and was short 550 pounds which was $900 Australian dollars and asked me if i could help till he got to Brisbane and he would
give it back to me when he arrived (as he had cash cheques from previous employer to cash in Australia) I told him I did not feel comfortable with this as I had previously explained to him I would not help him financially. He apologised and said that he didnt mean to just left himself short cash wise and if I did not help him he would have nowhere to live as the lease was up from where he was living in London. After many conversations, I foolishly agreed and did a money transfer with Western Union on 10/6 with (MTCN) 8679658240 and Western Union sent an email cofirming the contact person as Thomas Hanz had picked up the money on 11/6. Thomas emailed thanking me for the money and as planned I was to pick him up Thursday 7.30am 14/6. I received a txt from him telling me when he was just about to board he approached a cashier's desk at the airport to see if he could get his cheque cashed they told him yes but the expiry date had expired so he was getting off at Norway where his company was that he worked for and was getting a new cheque. I did not hear from him for 24 hours hours I texted him asking where was he and finally 24 hours later he texted and said could I pick him up Friday 15/6 by this time I knew I would never meet this horrible person so I told him I did not know what to believe anymore and how about he get his own way from Brisbane Airport on Friday and when checked himself into a motel to ring me and I would pick up the money, he texted about 8 hours later and said ok and off course today is sunday 17/5 and no sign of him. This is soul detroying for me as being a single Mum I lent him my 2 weeks rent on the understaning of receiving it back a day or two later but silly me. If you could help me this would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Jodie
