I received a business license in November to open a small in home nonmedical business. I was contacted by Northern leasing to sign up for credit card charges. The rep came to my job not at the time that we had agreed, but at a time when I was very busy. We reviewed some of the services that they offered, I had to actually leave the room to care for my patients. When I returned, I realized that she had left and had not left me any documents. I tried to contact her to no avail; she called me the following day at which time, i told her that I wanted to cancel. She begged to give her company a try because she was a single parent and needed the income. Later when I received the documents, my signature had been transposed to something that I did not agree to. She had also made the contract for 5 years! Once I received the manual processor, there was no imprint plate - which I never received. I never received the electronic machine. They ultimately withdrew all of the money in my bank account. I have tried for 10 years to get rid of this conniving company. They filed and received a judgment in New York against me and are now threatening a lien against my bank account. I had spoken to several people who share the same story. Why are these people allowed to exist? I am in the Atlanta area, but have heard from people throughout the US about their harrassing tactics.
