I rented from this company for 2 years. I left the apt in excellent condition. To my surprise, I was given a final bill for $ 285. I was also called a bad tennant by Christy Winters (who may be the most unprofessional, rude person I have encountered in business) because only 23 of my 24 payments were made on time (the 24th was paid 1 week late).
They are making up items to charge former customers to compensate for vacancy costs which is illegal. I will be contacting attorney general to have them investigate their billing practices. I had asked them what percentage of people actually get their security deposit back and was never given a reply. I am guessing almost none of the former tennants do so you should be prepared for that if you decide to lease from this company.
Part of my $ 285 that they claim I owe was for a dog deposit. The dog stayed with me on a regular basis 2 months prior to my moving out. Of course Christy claims the dog was there over a year. Not sure how that is possible since my dog is only 11 months old and I didnt get him until he was 9 weeks but since she is not good communicating I wouldnt expect her to be good at simple math either. I was also told I would only have to pay the pet fee when I renewed. I was never informed of this while I was living there. They have my email address and challenge them to provide me with any communication they emailed me that I owed this money while living there.
I also received a bill for removing 2 empty shoe boxes from an outdoor storage area. How awful is this company to try to bill a former tennant who paid almost $ 15k in rent and left the apartment in great condition this fee. No sense of customer service or gratitude that my rent helped to pay her salary.
I would never recommend this complex to anyone and have conviced several friends to move out or chose another company to rent from. Too many choices in Charlotte to deal with people like this who dont realize they only have jobs becasue of customers but treat their customers terribly.
