American Vacation Group
Consumer Report

Laura called me from American Vacation Group and told me that I have a pending escrow for the sale of 12 bonus weeks thru Interval that a company (later named dropped Coca Cola) wanted to purchase. She got my info from RTI. Who TRIED to charge me $900 to sell my timeshare two years ago, but I never filled out contract or approved CC transaction with them. So I was told that Coca Cola was going to purchase the 12 weeks at $1400 per week for a total of $16,800. And since it is over $10,000 I had to pay 10% tax per IRS in order to get my check for $16,800. I was told I could pay via electronic check or wire transfer and that after they received my payment THEN then would send me the contract information via email. I told her that I did not have that much money in my checking account and she told me that I could just say no and wait until another offer comes in that is less that $10,000 so I don't have to pay anything. I asked about paying with a credit card (which has some level of protection) and was told that they used to accept that form of payment but ppl would not pay there credit card bills... And that they IRS would not allow a credit card payment. She was very
professional and convincing but I asked her some many questions and she started to get defensive and told me I sounded worried or apprehensive. Well DUH! I am not sending them squat. If someone bought something from you, why the heck would you pay anything out of your own pocket?
