On both my April and May U.S. Cellular bills I was charged $9.99 for an Envirotips subscription.

My U.S. Cellular customer service representative explained to me that this is a third party billing situation, and that while she can submit requests to this 3rd party, that party can grant or deny refund of the charges. She also explained that such subscriptions can be activated with little or no knowledge of it on the part of the us cellular cutomer. Evidently, facebook is a place where many people are being unknowingly sucked in through sites that look informational but are actually advertisements.

As I am writing this, I am on hold with the company at the end of the 1-855-707-7758 number on my cellular bill. It has been 6 minutes and nothing but muzak and offers to unsubscribe via automated system. That won't get my refund, I'm sure, so I'm still holding!!!
