North Atlantic Security hires security officers with no experience to guard prisoners/inmates at various medical facilities through out the Mississippi and Alabama area.
Inmates are shackled at the ankles only and hands free.
You are to bring your own food with the understanding that the longest you are going to work is a 12 hour shift. Guess what, you will get stuck in the room and can't leave, they don't tell you this up front when you are going through the hiring process. You can't leave the room and you are to observe and maintain security of the prisoner. You don't have a fire arm for protection.
They will show you a writtien law about aiding in the escape of a fugitive is illegal and that means you leaving your post, doesn't matter to the Supervisors if you are exhausted and tired after working 19 hours. They don't care if you are about to fall asleep and can be harmed by the prisoner. You are tired and exhausted. I almost forgot, you are hungry because you only brough enough food for one shift. They don't care. THEY WON'T COME AND GIVE YOU A BREAK.
They will try to make out like you are doing something illegal if you can't work any longer.
I think that is called false imprisonment and you are not the criminal.
I did contact OSHA and the wage and labor department.
Working 4 months for this company was enough to make you really think how they take advantage of someone needing a job in todays society.
