Consumer Report

Received an email from a friend (which she never sent) with a link to an article about posting links for money (http://www.dorenews.net/biz/? Employment=3883912). From the article there is a link to accesshomeincomeinstitute.com, then on to webeducationmembers.com. Signing up for the course to teach you "how to post links" costs $97.95. As you begin the course, there is a banner to sign up for a free website and to contact a specialist (also free). At this point you realize the promise of simply posting links is very misleading. You will be posting affiliate links (pay per sale) to various companies from a website they build for you. You get paid only if the person clicks-through from your site and purchases something. That is what they mean by making money by posting links.

The "Register for 1 on 1 Support Specialist" phone number goes to a contracted company (so they say) called Business Development Center. They attempt to bring you on board their "team" and offer you a life coach, better website, access to their proven internet course (which they claim is used by Baylor University) and free tools that guarantee you will not lose your money - a minimum of a $5,000 investment for this business opportunity.

Unlike some who were unable to access the $97.95 course from Web Education, my login (email) and password (zip code) did work and there is a course there with some worthwhile information. Skip the part that mentions "website" and "technical support", just click "continue" or click a "Module" tab at the top of the page. Lessons are on the left navigation bar.

I tried the money back guarantee phone number but it was disconnected. The phone number on the VISA charge did work - 855-551-3857. Go online, login to your VISA account and look at the entry for M&MWebServices $97.95. There should be a phone number there (if it is not the same as mine). This is the number the VISA agent used when I called to have the charge removed.

Good luck everyone. The VISA agent and I were given a confirmation number and told it will take 10 days for the refund to be processed. We'll see.
