Saw the ad for Schwinn bicycles in the newspaper, first day of sale, went to Fredericksburg, VA store to purchase. The two display bikes were in less than new condition (boys and girls). I asked for new bikes that were not scratched and chipped. The catch 22 is that they have to assemble the bikes, you can not purchase them and assemble yourself. They won't assemble more bikes until the currently assembled bikes, are sold, but they were scratched and chipped. I asked to purchase the new unassembled bikes and pick them up, after they were assembled. They would not sell them to me. Then we discovered they did not have a supply of these bikes in the store. They had the displayed bikes and one of the two in stock. This was the first day of the sale and we were in the store early. This struck me as the old bait and switch game. I have discontinued shopping at another store for this same tactic and they're now out of business. I was ready to purchase the advertised items but they wanted to sell items in less than new condition or nothing. I won't be shopping at Target in the future.
