On april 3 i gave palm beach auto movers a 150.00 deposit on a contract to transport my auto from boca raton to new jersey, on april 30. On april 30 i was told by palm beach auto movers {agent norm} that they could not pick up my car as their driver was sick and also that their truck broke down' however, they could possibly get someone to pick up my car, but they would have to charge me an additional fuel surcharge [fuel prices actually came down the past 2/3 weeks} if i did not agree to the new charges i could have my deposit back. I told them that i would like my deposit back. To this date 6/01 i have not received my deposit back, even after about six calls to their office. I called the department of transportation in DC and was told that the palm beach auto movers did not have a icc number and they where not listed having a federal registration number as a transporter of vehicles. However they were listed as a broker, subject to the laws and regulations on the state of florida. My complaint is that i have a signed contract with palm beach auto movers and as of this date they have failed to return my deposit.
