Consumer Report

A Mr. Brian Major contacted me and said his client, Alan Thomas, had been killed in an auto accident and died intestate. He Alan left 9.8 million pounds sterling in a Northern Bank account in the UK. He said we could claim it if I posed as his next to kin. I played along with it to see what the angle was. His forgeries were good. He had a Certificate of Deposit, a Deed of Deposit and a death certificate. He put me in touch with a Mr. Ian Nakamoto was supposedly head of their Special Remittance Department. He asked for copies of the documents and then took it to his board for approval. He came back and sent me a letter of proof that I was Alan Thomas's next of kin and that I was eligible for receipt of the 9.8 million. Northern Bank then assigned an attorney to me because this thing had to go through probate court and other legal matters had to be satisfied before I recieved the funds. This attorney, one Eric Charnely, want. 5% of the 9.8 million for his fee and 1,050 up front before he would get started. I contacted Northern Bank and asked them if Ian Nakamoto was an employee of Northern Bank. They replied that he wasn't and that any email I received with his name on it as a Northern Bank representative was fraudulent. So that was the end to that scam. You must really do your research before you get involved in these online get rich quick schemes. There was also no website for Eric Charnely's law firm which raised another red flag. Fortunately I did not lose any money.
