I tried using a visa gift card to make a purchase. It was declined. There were 2 visa cards. One fro $150.00 and the other for $250.00Called Cusotmer service number and was told there was a lesser amount on my cards. I had not used these cards and wanted to know why. Apparently there is a service charge that goes into effect 6 months agfter issue that is taekn out of the card dollar value. These cards were a gift and I think it is unfair that I do not have access to the full amount given to me as a gift. Why should I be charged a penalty at all? Why if there is a penalty is it in 6 months and not at least a year? This gift was a taxable benefit to me. I have paid taxes on the full amount and now get penalised for not using the card?
