Im am embaressed to say I have fallin victim to this SCAM. I recieved the whole phone call about about this gift card. Ater getting off the phone I felt somthing was not right. I agreed to pay the 8.00 handeling fee. However I didnt agree to the additonal money that they had taken out of my account. They had taken $60 out and it was credited to a buyers market in Deerfieldbeach, FL. I called my bank as soon as I realized they were going to basically do what they want with my credit card information. I recieved a new debit card a week later and moved on with my life. I never recieved any gift card from anyone. One day I check the mail and it is completely overloaded with random magazines! First of all I dont read any magazines??? Then I get a bill in the mail for the magazines that were sent from a company called YMS. I start doing my research and read that this is basically a scam and decide to just leave it at that. One day I get a phone call from a woman named Jodi, who has horrible customer service skills and is rude to me as soon as I answer the phone. I tried being polite and explain to her that there has been confusion and I never meant to sign up for magazines. She hung up on me... They called me so many times and tried explaining my situation tried cancelling and no luck. I recieved nothing but attitude and rudeness, I have never been talked down to the way these people spoke to me...
Moving forward I then start receiving phone calls saying my account has been sent to collections. I start getting phone calls from a woman by the name Diana Lewis from the Credit Bureau. Trying to collect a debit for YMS. I had never recieved any collections type notice in the mail so I thought this was a little weird? Im sure there is a process for this type of thing. I then tell her I have read up on YMS and I am sure it is a scam. She begins to be rude once I say this is a scam and will not pay it. She hung up on me. Then had the nerve to call me right back and ask if I had a job? She said they were going to track me down and garnish my wages. I was extremly upset and called my husband crying he told me to call back and get all of their contact information. He advised me that if there were an open debit and filing to have wages garnished it would be on my credit report. I pulled up an extensive search on my credit report and nothing was on there. I havent had anything reported to the credit bureau in a few years.
I am so confused and disgusted by the act that these people play in this SCAM! I feel so helpless against them. Everything about them is just sketchy. I have documents they send from Alpharetta, Ga? But the letters and invoices are coming out of FL? The same place this credit bureau is and the same place the money for the buyers market??? I have researched the info this Diana Lewis has provided me with I cant find anything. I am pretty sure the Credit Bureau does not handle collections for SCAMMING dirt bags.
I am so overwhelmed by this whole thing and I WISH they could be stopped from doing this to other people also.
