Singapore Airlines Arbitrarily changes flight date after confirmation

On 24 Nov I purchased two Singapore Air tickets from Houston to Moscow to depart on 30 April and return on 22 Jun. On Saturday 31 March I received a phone call telling me we could not depart on 30 April and had to change the date of departure. I was first offered 29 April but I argued against that since our visas were not yet activated. I was then told I had to take either the 1st or 2nd of May as an alternative. Obviously I accepted 1 May since it was the closest to the original date. Because there were plenty of seats when we originally purchased the tickets, I do not understand the problem, especially when the new confirmation sent to us states I purchased the changed tickets on 24 Nov which is a lie. Also the electronic ticket numbers are exactly the same as is the booking reference number. When I asked the caller for the reason of the forced changed, he stated he did not know, that no one told him. I later called Singapore Air and the person could only tell me the dates of the flight having no information on the original. When I asked where to complain, I was placed on hold for a few minutes and then told to go to the website. I filed a feedback report (there was no complaint form) and a couple days later 4 April I received an automated reply stating they would get in touch we me later which has yet to happen. I also filed a complaint with airconsumer at DOT which was a worthless effort.
