I received a call from this company, promising me a free $250 gift card to be used as I wished, in return for subscriptions to three magazines. I should have just hung up the phone - but the caller was very insistent that I take the opportunity to get the gift card, which had no strings attached. As it turns out, the so called "gift card" is a voucher program, requiring the holder to spend $100/month, for a $25 rebate for each $100 spent. This must be done with a major credit card. At no time was I informed that this was a voucher program: I was led to believe that I'd receive a gift card, like a pre-paid Visa, to use as I pleased. Also, I was told that I'b be charged $17.33/month... Adding up to a little over $207. During a phone call that I initiated to cancel the subscriptions, I was told that couldn't be done, and that I could settle up for three payments of $83.22, which totals over $249. I have since blocked any future payments to this company, and am sending letters to my state's Attorney General's office, and the Better Business Bureau to lodge a complaint about these unscrupulous practices.
