I received a Smokey Bones gift card about 2 years ago. On March 18, I called to verify that the card was still active 1-877-610-3705 and was advised that the card was still active for the full amount of $25. We went to Smokey Bones at 136 Brandon Town D Center, Brandon FL 33511 today, March 18 and had a delicious and wonderful lunch. The food was outstanding, the service great and the atmosphere very nice, until we paid for our dinner. The waiter, Kevin, said the system would not accept the Smokey Bones gift card and said he would talk to the Manager. The Manager advised him that Smokey Bones was bought out by another company that the card could be used at a Darden restaurant but not at Smokey Bones? I am confused, if Smokey Bones bought out the restaurant and the card is valid why would the card be declined? It was embarassing and I believe bad customer service to an otherwise great experience. I am pretty sure, that if I try to use this card at a Darden restaurant it will not be allowed since the card says Smokey Bones.
