Cellan & Coleanse
Consumer Report

It all started November 25. I was in my car and a commercial for Cellan and Coleanse came on talking about how great the products were, free trial samples (you just pay shipping) and money back guarantees. So I called the toll free number and asked for the trial samples.

Nothing was mentioned about being charged 16 days after placing this order or about future products being shipped automatically. As I live in Canada it took over six weeks for the stuff to arrive. This means I was already past the 16 day return and hadn't even tried the product.

I wasn't quite sure how to use the products as they didn't give detailed information with the stuff, just an ingredient list and very simple instructions. I decided to try the Coleanse first. I took it before bed and about 3:00 A.M. Woke with horrible stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea and fever. Called 911 and was taken by ambulance to Emergency Room. As I have Crohn's Disease, a GI specialist was called. He said the Coleanse was the cause of my symptoms and I should have been given more information so I could have made an informed decision whether or not to take the product. This stuff is very UNSAFE for anyone suffering from any IBDs, but the bottle doesn't say this. I have not opened the Cellan and after what happened with the Coleanse, I don't feel safe trying it.

My credit card was billed on Nov. 25 for both of the shipping charges, $3.95 for the Coleanse and $4.95 for the Cellan. On Dec. 11th I was charged $69.42 for the "FREE SAMPLE" of Coleanse and on Dec. 17th charged $89.52 for the Cellan.

Unfortunately for me, at that time I was in the hospital having hip replacement surgery so I was not able to keep up with my mail. I am 62 years old and live alone, so after the surgery I had to go to a hospice for aftercare. I was there until late Feb. (I had complications from the surgery plus relearning to walk was very difficult). Made even more so because of my overweight condition.

I'm now back home and facing two big boxes of mail my neighbor had collected for me. During my hospitalization, another billing charge was made and automatic shipments came: Jan. 12th I was charged $69.42 for a shipment of Coleanse, and on Jan. 16th, $89.52 for Cellan. I don't know the exact date of the arrival of the packages.

I haven't opened these last two shipments. Today I called the Customer Support number and was told I could not return these products or receive any refunds. The man I spoke to said I was past the return and refund dates. I explained about my hospitalization and also asked to speak to a Supervisor. He said he was the supervisor. I asked to speak to his boss and was informed his boss did not speak to customers; (he had an answer for everything — it was like talking to a robot — like he was reading from a script)

I don't have a home computer and use the free ones at our public library. Which is where I'm at right now. I looked on both of their websites first and that was when I saw all the stuff about the 16 day trial and automatic shipping and billing. But if a person doesn't have home computer how can they agree to something they haven't seen?

This had been a very expensive foul up, one I can not afford as I am on a very limited budget. I've cancelled my credit card so they will not be able to bill any thing else to my account. But I am still out the $326.78. I will never again order anything from an 800 number, no matter how great the product sounds.

These people are rude, underhanded, and in my opinion SCAM ARTISTS!

If there is anyway you can assist me in getting my money back I would be so grateful. Thank you.

G. Priest
