It turned out i completed my assignment, emailed my report and i went to my bank to deposit the check so i can cash my $320 and send the rest.
While at the bank, the bank manager assisted me asking questions: where i've gotton the check, etc.
They confirmed that the check was a fraud, so they kept the original copies and made me copies just in case.
