My husband and I had a Discover card and used it quite reguarly. A telemarketer called us and we gave them the Discover card number. We canceled within the prescribed time limit. The bill showed up on our Discover card account. We told "Discover card" that services were not rendered and disputed it. Needless to say, it was off for one month and then put back on again.
The "Discover card" company took our rebates to pay for this disputed amount without permission. We canceled the account and explained again that services were never rendered for this dispute. The account is still haunting my credit report to this day—17 years after the fact.
I now do not recommend Discover Card to anyone. I will never get another one no matter how good the interest rate is because of their fraudulent practices.
