In 2007. The accountant filed my Federal Tax Form with an incorrect amt, then filled the State return with a lessor amt. Now claims the w2 form was incorrect. I have a copy of the original w2 form which showed the same amt of income for both Federal and State. As a result in 2011 the State sent me a notice of a proposed assessment. I notified the Tax Club in March and they did not get back with me to rectify the issue for several months. They did submit for me to the IRS an corrected form. However it was past the IRS 3 year deadline so I was turned down. When the Tax Club rep was asked how this could happen, his response was "people make mistakes." The Tax Club refused to return the money I lost due to their accountants mistake.
