I paid Lulu $280.00 for my book manuscript to be formatted and a cover design. I have not gotten what i paid for in nearly THREE MONTHS.
On 11/19, I went to Lulu.com and ordered (#5825132) a cover design and book formatting package for my book manuscript. Without my knowledge, they outsourced it to a company called Accurance (under sub name Authorpartner) to handle said services. While i was very pleased with the cover design, I have been thoroughly disgusted with Lulu and Authorpartner's handling of my book manuscript as it relates to the formatting of it. There then, after 11/19, began a series of back and forth emails in which every time they attempted to format my manuscript, they would create errors structurally that involved me having to re-edit it and send it back to be reformatted. I have long suspected that their slow walking may be racial and be indicative of a bias against the subject of the book itself (on black men and human sexuality in prison), but on 1/12, they made their slothfulness concrete by sending me a condescending, sarcastic email stating they did not understand which paragraphs need formatting. I responded by informing them that if i tell you which PAGE an entire PARAGRAPH is out of order, then it does not require me to be more specific, as it JUMPS out at you on the page itself in every instance. Since then, they have not responded to any of my emails or calls, and I have missed 6 deadlines to take my manuscript to print because of either their incompetence, stupidity, or racially biased slow-dragging because of the subject of the manuscript itself. Lulu has only said that they have nothing to do with what Authorpartner did, but i disagree... If i paid LULU to do this, then taking my MONEY carries with it a level of complicity, even if without my prior knowledge, they outsourced it to a criminal outfit such as Authorpartner. Both Authorpartner AND Lulu are to blame for such wicked, malicious slothfulness, and I find both of them legally and financially responsible. I intend to sue the criminal outfit known as Authorpartner, but Lulu needs to refund me my money for wasting my time and money with this mess. At this point, I want the entire $280.00 refunded, or both they and the criminal outfit known as Authorpartner will face a $50,000 lawsuit for damages, suffering, and criminal racial bias in not performing the task that i paid good, hard earned money for.
