Ronnie Brockett and I were before the AG and the Judge on December 18,1995 for the same reason as today. He was in arrears by more than $15,000.00. At that time the court told him not to be seen back in your court again for this reason. Today he is in arrears over $29,337.41 plus the money due.in the past 360 weeks or 7 years of payments ordered by this court he has paid 16 payments. Mr. Brockett has been in court in front of the Attorney General Magestrate no less than 7 times in an effort to enforce the court order. Each time he has chosen to not fulfill his obligation as ordered by your court.
In addition to the arrears, he was ordered in the divorce decrees to furnish health insurance for the children he never did so or reimbursed me for the insurance I carried. Since it has been so many years, I cannot produce all the insurance receipts for the health coverage I carried or the medical bills I paid. Two of my employers are out of business and my children have been too old to carry on my policy since I have been in with my present employer. The medication my son is required to take every month runs $1260.00 per year. He has no medical coverage and he is too old to be covered on mine.
My son is now 23 years old and my daughter is 30 years old. Both have medical problems that they need money to address and they nor I can afford them. This money is need to help them. Over the years I have withdrawn all my retirement accounts to raise my children. Many times I was forced to work two jobs, to work at night, or to worry sick about my children either because I away from them all the time or because I did not have enough to support them. When Ronnie neglected to support his children, it only aggravated all the other problems the children faced.
While the children are being told to feel sorry for Ronnie Brockett because he is sick with emphazema and has other health issues, that still does not excuse the fact that he has been in violation of the courts orders for the last 16 years. It is time he should be held accountable.
It is time, the court not just slap his hand and and set up a leniant pay back plan which he never intends to pay. The courts action must be swift enough to insure he pays what he was ordered to by this court in 1988 plus interest. Past performance is a clear indication of future performance. The AG of Texas refuses to see it.
