After reading SO many complaints about the West Palm Beach Florida's DCF (circuit 15) office, it makes me feel as if a LOT needs to be done to repair the broken down DCF offices and workers. My story is a lot like the others. My situation started with my mom complaining of being "ripped off and abused" for years now. I do not live in Florida, and had no idea how bad things had gotten. Then in March of last year, it happened again. Mom was beaten by one of my sibling. I now have in my possession police reports of at least 2 of these beatings and pictures of how badly mom had been exploited and abused. I was recently sent a "scare letter" from Kimberley Welles-SER Program Director.in it, it states that I and my family have used the "Florida Abuse Hotline" to file false reports. Are you people kidding me? Perhaps if you had actually investigated the situation instead of DOING NOTHING TO HELP MY MOM, you wouldn't of even Thought of sending us such a STUPID and False letter of intent. Mom was ripped off just before we arrived (at her request for help from us) We found a photo copy of recently written and cashed checks from Bank of America in West Palm Beach. It was in the amount of $30,000.00. Yes $30,000.00! It's appalling and obvious exploitation!!! You see, when we found the check and asked mom about it, she was stunned. To further tell you how bad she was, the police in Alabama (she was visiting her sister just a week before) had her placed in the hospital as her behavior became uncontrollable. The diagnosis was "Full Blown Alzheimers"!! We were devastated! How come West Palm Beach has DONE NOTHING except try to scare us away? What about their own motto (Protect the Vulnerable)? What is the explanation when I reported it to the Florida Attorney Generals Office (Pam Bondi) who said that what was going on with mom "appeared CRIMINAL"!!! The whole DCF West Palm Beach office is a PUBLIC RIPOFF!!! The taxpayers of Florida are duped into believing that DCF will be there for them when they become elderly or vulnerable. NOT!!! I stated to Ms. Welles that DCF should be scrapped and all who haven't done what they are being paid too should be fired. After all, our society is full of highly educated and empathetic people who would love the chance to work and draw a paycheck to help make a difference in their community. I know mom told us numerous times that people would "knock on her door and she wouldn't answer it". This has to be DCF. They simply got into their vehicle and wrote down something on a clip board and left. THAT IS AN INVESTIGATION??? Why did DCF notify us? Instead we get a threatening letter. To further aggravate us, we told them that mom can "no longer write ". We have given there case worker / investigator the bank info, and yet they still can't get it right? Your kidding, right? No, sadly DCF has NO INTEREST IN GETTING ANYTHING RIGHT. We have a lot of mom's recent mail in our possession. Also we have pictures of how mom's houses have been pillaged and all her possessions have been taken by my siblings. What does it take to MOVE DCF? I would love to hear it. I have copies of a "home hospice" service that mom was suppose to have had care from. Well, she was left alone for the ENTIRE time. Her sister told us that she was walking at night even through "golf courses". I called the police and reported this. I was told by the police that it was amazing she didn't drown as retention ponds are everywhere. She can't swim. We fully intend to continue on our journey for justice. The last thing I will say is that mom was taken by the VERY PERSON WHO INFLICTED "THIRD DEGREE BATTERY" ON HER AND SHE IS LIVING WITH THIS PERSON. If that isn't SICK-then I don't know what is??? Please get DCF MOVING!!!
