I was charged $9.99 each for five texts from the company silicon investments. I had recieved texts stating that i would now be recieving text alerts from them and that if i did not want to be charged 9.99 for this service that i should promptly send a reply text with the phrase "STOP". Obviously i did not want these alerts so i replied "STOP" to all five. Unbeknownst to me this was a scam and you are automatically charged when you reply. Have been emailing and calling this biz, with no responses, and after viewing scam alert web sites have realized what i had already assumed, they are scammers. Fortunately, i have a great carrier and they have blocked all future texts and have credited my account for the charges.
