My husband was calling Apple to get his Iphone unlocked when the call was intercepted by this Assist 123.
He was told by the representative that AT&T's lines were down and for his trouble he was being given this offer. For trying Assist 123 for 30 days for $3.95 he would receive a $100 Walmart card and after she obtained his information she would transfer him to the department to help with unlocking his phone.
Of course since he thought he was speaking with Apple they were given my debit card information and a charge of $3.95 was deducted from my checking account so after all of this she said to hold on and she would transfer his call. When she transferred his call it went right back to another Assist 123 representative and he explained that he was suppose to be transferred to a department that would help unlock his phone and they gave him another number to call which turned out to be Apple.
When speaking with the Apple technician regarding his phone he was telling him about the Assist 123 and the technician told him that Apple had no affiliation with them and that actually he had never heard of them.
At this point, I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and I immediately went in and transferred all the money from my checking account to my savings account.
I called my bank this morning first thing and put a hold on my debit card, they may have gotten the initial $3.95 but they won't get a dime more from me I can tell them that.
After that I called the number they gave me to cancel the service and cancelled the free trial, I was told I would be receiving a refund, I will believe that when I see it.
