I went to Huck's to purchase items and Lottery.
Although I was using my Debit card to purchase all items, I was informed I could not use my Debit card to purchase the Lottery tickets. I was told to use the ATM.
The store clerk held ALL tickets for hostage until she got the money. So I was forced to use the ATM
There is no sign posted/stating you can not use your Debit card for Lottery.
I am aware that stores will not allow you to use a Credit Card for Lottery purchases, but I have never heard not allowing you to use your Debit card for purchases. I have been to other stores within the area and am allowed to use my Debit card for Lottery purchases.
This unique rule Huck's have adopted, goes against my right to have and use my Debit card. Their refusal of Debit card use should be across the board and not tailored around their ATM.
Or was this rule unique to me?
In my opinion, people are being forced to use the ATM in their store because they receive kick backs, particularly with Lottery purchases.
I will be making further inquiries and taking action against this unique rule.
