A premium message was added to my cell bill.

This company is a complete scam. The sign up information is presented in a way that makes you think you are trying to get information from another website, which makes me think the original site I was on is also in on the scam. The whole set up is fishy, but I thought that as long as I don't give them my personal information or credit card information, there's no way they can charge me for anything... That was naive of me. They apparently charge your wireless carrier directly for "premium text message services". I found the bill on my cell carrier's bill and called Verizon to find out what the charge was for. I had never even heard of premium text messaging. Verizon was able to block future charges though I still do not know how I incurred the charge.
