CC Global and now Moldova Comp. Both show the same phone number

I had a check post to my checking account in the amount of $. 01. I called the phone number on the check (1-877-533-8998) and was told someone had purchased access to an "adult" website that would be billing us 29.99 a month. I told them this isn't accurate. They wanted me to go to a website and "cancel". I didn't. I went directly to my bank and made a report. Now I see that Moldova Comp. Made a deposit to my account of $. 01. I called the phone number (MOLDOVA COMP/8772248741) and it was a sketchy voice mail that answered asking me to leave a message. I called my bank and they've recommended I close my account.
